Job Description
AECOM are seeking an experienced and innovative Principal Engineer – Water to join their dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will lead and manage complex water infrastructure projects, driving sustainable solutions for our clients and the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the required quality standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated water management solutions.
- Perform advanced hydraulic modeling and analysis for complex water systems.
- Oversee environmental impact assessments for water-related projects.
- Stay informed about the latest industry trends and technologies in water engineering.
- Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing.
- Ensure compliance with both local and international water regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years of experience in the UAE or other GCC countries.
- Proven ability to lead a team of engineers and deliver medium to large-scale projects.
- Strong technical expertise to serve as an advisor to the team.
- Extensive experience in the design and implementation of water infrastructure systems.
- Ability to develop construction cost estimates and technical effort estimates for projects.
- Proficiency in quality control review of design calculations and drawings.
- Experience preparing technical specifications.
- Capable of contributing to the development of project budgets and schedules.
